Directions

Which patch do I need? If you smoke 20 or more cigarettes a day start with Step 1, the large size Nicotinell TTS30 (21mg / 24 hour) patches. If you smoke less than this start with Step 2, the medium size Nicotinell TTS20 (14mg / 24 hour) patches. Do not start with Step 3, the small size (7mg / 24 hour) patches; they should only be used to complete the treatment. If you need advice before starting to use nicotine patches, talk to your pharmacist or doctor. Read the enclose instructions carefully before use. Nicotinell patches can help you stop smoking. When you apply the patch, nicotine passes through your skin and into your body, replacing the nicotine you would normally get from smoking. The patches come in three sizes. As your body adjusts to not smoking you should gradually reduce the size of the patch over a period of up to 12 weeks until you no longer need to use them. Instructions for use. You must not smoke whilst using these patches. Adults: Apply one patch at the same time each day (preferably first thing in the morning) to a clean, dry and hairless area of the skin. We recommend the front or side of the chest, the back or the upper arm. Leave the patch on for 24 hours, then remove and dispose of before applying the next patch. Adolescents aged 12 years and above: Follow the instructions above, however only use the patches for 12 weeks. If you haven't stopped smoking by the end of the 12 week treatment period speak to a doctor, nurse or pharmacist for further advice. Not to be used by children under the age of 12 years of age without the advice of a doctor. Not to be used by non-smokers. Consult your doctor, nurse or pharmacist before starting to use these patches if you are: In hospital with serious heart disease. Pregnant or breast-feeding.
